Science-based options for Paris agreement implementation
Carbon Balance and Management welcomes submissions to the thematic series on Science-based options for Paris agreement implementation.
The Paris Agreement has posed numerous complex issues that call for interdisciplinary research. The most important of them is probably the feasibility of the 1.5°C goal. This thematic series aims to form a collection of articles discussing the options for achieving such a goal. The collection is expected to include the articles that clarify the socio-economic transformations needed to achieve the 1.5°C goal, the potential for carbon sequestration in natural and managed ecosystems, the efficiency of carbon sinks under changing climate, the level of transparency and verification that could be achieved in development of nationally determined contributions, the ability of global scenarios to integrate realistic national priorities, and the mutual consistency of the recently proposed solutions and strategies. Research that combines the mitigation of carbon emissions with the adaptation of societal behavior or processes to reduce carbon emissions (mitigation X adaptation) are particularly encouraged.
Data deposition through the Research Data Support service is strongly encouraged to promote transparency and facilitate the adoption of this research for policy formation.
Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you have carefully read the submission guidelines for Carbon Balance and Management. The complete manuscript should be submitted through the Carbon Balance and Management submission system. To ensure that you submit to the correct thematic series please select the appropriate thematic series in the drop-down menu upon submission. In addition, indicate within your cover letter that you wish your manuscript to be considered as part of the thematic series on 'Science-based options for Paris agreement implementation'. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review and accepted articles will be published within the journal as a collection.
