The forest cover relates to the year 2000 for the Global EO [17] and 1994 for NGHGI dataset [38]. The year 1994 for the NGHGI was chosen as the data is not available annually. The Y axis in b represents the maximum forest coverage by combining both datasets, removing areas considered non-forested areas in both datasets
