Hypothetical forest age class distribution of a country. The green encircled part are those age classes where under the base period harvesting took place. The biomass associated to these is called ‘BAWS’, biomass available for wood supply. The black part of the bars are those areas that have actually been harvested between 2000 and 2009. It is these black fractions out of the red bars, that together form the management fraction. This percentage is then used in the projection under ‘constant management intensity’ [23]
